Summary:
The Driver is responsible for transporting American Gold Star Manor (Manor) residents in a timely, safe, and compliant manner.
General duties include assisting Manor residents into the Manor vehicle, using a navigation system to map travel routes, delivering residents to the correct destinations in a timely manner, returning residents to the Manor after excursions, and picking up and/or delivering items as needed.
Driver will also assist with other Resident Services related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
Transport residents and/or items to and from destinations.
Arrive at destinations on schedule.
Fulfill administrative needs, like office pickups.
Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays.
Use navigation applications to determine the best route.
Interact with residents professionally at all times.
Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.
Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed.
Keep mileage records and repair records up to date.
Follow safety protocols issued by the Manor, as well as by federal, state, and local authorities.
Assist with other Resident Services related duties as assigned.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must have a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory CA Motor Vehicle Report.
The organization will review the Driver's DMV Motor Vehicle Report on at least an annual basis to ensure compliance with Manor regulations.
Ability to follow instructions from management.
Safety minded and able to respond during an emergency.
Able to complete and return paperwork when scheduled.
Must not hold another position with, or be a resident of, the Manor.
Must pass driver safety training course and driving test upon hire, and periodically thereafter.
Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Related experience preferred.
Ability to communicate via writing, email, text, and phone in English.
Experience with computers highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and walking.
Must be physically able to climb stairs, and traverse uneven ground.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
Work outside in varying temperature and weather conditions.
