ly/3O5IFob to apply THE POSITION The Administrative Officer is an at-will management position reporting directly to the City Clerk.
This position coordinates and administers the fiscal, personnel, purchasing, safety, and facility maintenance for the department.
Typical duties of the position include the following:
Prepares the department's budget and monitors compliance; Advises management staff regarding HR best practices to ensure compliance; Oversees the department's internal recruitment process for unclassified positions; Conducts administrative investigations and makes recommendations for corrective actions; Administers the Worker's Compensation, leaves of absence and safety programs.
Oversees the department's payroll; Oversees delivery, security and emergency operations; Develops and revises department policies and procedures and coordinates labor/management relations.
Interprets and applies federal and state laws, as well as the City's policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and memoranda of understanding (MOUs); Represents the department on various citywide committees; Coordinates the department's Capital Improvement Projects; Manages facility maintenance; Liaisons with the Budget Office, Human Resources, Financial Management, and other external operations; Supervises the Front Counter staff; Willingness to work nights, weekends, overtime and be flexible depending on the departmental needs; May be assigned other duties, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS TO FILE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION Graduation from an accredited college or university with Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources degree or closely related fields; however, candidates may substitute experience offering specific and substantial preparation for the duties of the position for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE A minimum of three (3) years of professional full-time experience working in government, or non-profit; A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory/lead experience.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Experience within the City of Long Beach or equivalent local government; Experience with Mainframe (Blue Zone), Simpler and/or Munis; Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
