We're looking for an Operations Manager that has a special blend of customer service, management acumen and takes pride in their employees and community.
Block by Block-CA is seeking to hire an Operations Manager to provide daily oversight to (50+) our Clean, Safety, Hospitality and Outreach Program in Long Beach, CA to support the work and mission of the Downtown Long Beach Alliance.
This program operates 7 days a week/365 days per year from 5 am to 11 pm.
This role is supported by two operation supervisors and four team leaders.
Our Ambassador program makes downtown Long Beach clean, welcoming and safe.
The Operations Manager position is the Lead Ambassador in charge of all aspects of our program including personnel, equipment and deployment.
This role works directly with our customer to not only to deliver daily services throughout the district, but also deliver continual program improvements as well.
We're looking for someone with strong leadership and customer service skills, executive level budgeting skills and a great work ethic.
This is a large team with lots of moving parts.
Our leaders wear many different hats and have to be able to work quickly to solve problems.
We need independent thinkers with a strong understanding of project management and deadlines.
Specific daily responsibilities of the Operations Manager may include:
Coordinate recruitment, selection of candidates.
Onboarding and training of all new Ambassadors.
Create a culture that would make everyone want to join your team! Continual adjustments to the deployment of resources to match changing needs.
This includes resources of the humankind.
Basically, redeploying according to daily needs.
Continual problem identification and solving to improve the quality of the program.
Problem solving is a very big part of what our Operations Managers do.
(We need an innovator to lead our teams in our downtowns.
) Procurement and inventory of supplies and equipment.
Reporting outcomes through a variety of reporting channels; (This means spreadsheets, Kronos Timekeeping, Budgetsyou get the idea.
) Hands-on working management in the field to provide coaching, mentoring, and continuous training on standard policies and procedure.
