HEADER MACHINIST Job Type: Full-Time Post Date: 10/11/2012 Job Description: SUMMARY The Manufacturing Header Machinist maximizes efficiency through the process of set-ups and operations of one or more header machines for the manufacture of all types of bolts and special products launch for new or revised products. Processes methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following: . Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed and feed. . Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. . Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications. . Prepares and verifies production machine operations on trial run to ensure accuracy of machine settings. . Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly. . Checks parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers and gauges and perform SPC . Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools. Major discrepancies are reported to supervisor. . Complete rebuilding of precision machine tools and equipment. . Checks tooling and reworks as needed to keep machine running. . Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance. . Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams. . Works directly with all levels in the organization including, management/supervision on continuous improvement efforts regarding machines, components and manufacturing systems. . Works under general supervision with a certain degree of latitude as required. . Works under recommended waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the manufacturing production function such as recycling opportunities to elimination or minimize production waste. . May assist in the technical coaching of trainees &/or operators. Qualifications ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES Education and/or Experience . High school diploma or general education degree (GED). . Working experience of manufacturing environment procedures . A minimum of 4 years related industrial machine shop experience in operation equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to perform simple written instructions, correspondence or memos. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization Mathematical Skills Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems by data collection, establish facts and follow instructions in written and basic diagram formats. Ability to multi-task variety of problem solving and deal with several internal and external situations. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
