Position
Summary:
Under direction of a Region Director of Human Resources the incumbent willfocuses primarily on providing customer-centric, HR consulting support forRegional Company employees. A heavyemphasis is placed on employee/labor relations and other activities including:recruitment; employee development; compensation, and compliance.

Adhere toand assure compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies andprocedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards promulgated byFederal, State and other applicable agencies or regulating bodies.
Implementsand reviews Human Resource processes/systems on an on-going basis foreffectiveness within the HR department.
Providesguidance and support to line management on the human resource implications ofvarious management decisions to ensure compliance with all federal, state and localregulations; the corporation's policies, procedures and guiding principles; andthe Collective Bargaining Agreement when applicable.
Conductsinvestigations based on workplace complaints received or identified, andrecommends appropriate resolution through the interpretation and fairapplication of company personnel policies, procedures and guiding principlesthereby ensuring an effective employer/employee relationship is maintained.
InvestigatesEEOC and other regulatory agency complaints and develops written responses inpartnership with the organizations employment counsel, region HRD, andappropriate line management to minimize or eliminate employment litigation andfinancial liability.
Providesassistance to line management with recruiting needs by ensuring open andapproved positions are appropriately posted, and assists in the candidateselection process (i.e., interviews, offer formulation and generation of offerletters).
Facilitatesemployee development through the identification of training needs, careercounseling, and by conducting selected human resource training programs, whichprovide continuous development of all employees to meet current and projectedmanpower/skill requirements.
Consultswith line management on compensation issues regarding employment offers, meritincreases, and both commission and bonus programs necessary to continue toattract, retain and motivate employees.
Developsand/or manages special projects on an assigned basis to enhance employeecommunications, training, benefits knowledge and the awareness of corporatepolicies, procedures and guiding principles.
Assists inthe identification, development and implementation of new or revised HumanResources systems, policies and procedures to support such diverse strategicbusiness objectives as reorganizations, alternative work schedules, and HR workprocess improvements.
Ensures theproper on-boarding of new employees and the professional exit of terminatingemployees with regards to company policies, procedures, and benefits.
Assistsemployees in the interpretation of the corporation's various benefit programsto achieve an effective employee utilization and understanding of all suchprograms.
Ensuresproper authorization for all employee changes handled, in advance, from bothline and senior management prior to having them processed into the HRMS/Payrollsystem.
Manages thetermination process as assigned within the region including: exit interviews;submission of required documentation; processing of unemployment claims (i.e.,providing separation documentation to company's third party vendor), andattendance at unemployment hearings as required.
Identifiesopportunities and strategies for the management development of selectedassociates in assigned area, including the use of 360 feedback and otherassessment tools, and by assisting in the construction of development plans andevaluating progress of plans implemented.
Assistsregion HRD and regional company AVP's and/or functional VP's withorganizational restructuring, i.e., consultations regarding alternatives,candidate selection, and change of status forms.
Managesassigned follow up activities stemming from employee surveys, i.e., roundtables,action planning, and subsequent employee communications to drive positivechange and two-way communications within the organization.
Managementof assigned regional company reduction-in-force activities, as assigned by HRD,i.e., review of selections, development of justifications with management;attending meetings with managers and processing separation paperwork.
Developmentand co-delivery, along with line management, of Corrective Action Plans andother coaching and corrective action documents (i.e., documented warnings) toensure the company is providing a fair and equitable opportunity forindividuals to make positive change prior to deciding any adverse employmentaction.
Employeefile maintenance scanning/storage of various employee documents handled(i.e., performance improvement plans, coaching and corrective action reports,etc.) into the Human Resource Efile system.
Substantial local travel within Southern California; 75% - 90%
Performs otherduties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to multi-taskin a high volume setting.
Strong analytical andcommunication skills, both verbal and written.
Team oriented with acontinuous improvement outlook.
Basicworking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,and Outlook).
Demonstratedknowledge of HRIS, ATS systems and other related programs.
Ability to multi-taskand manage multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner andanticipating critical deadlines.
Demonstrated currentknowledge of employment law, industry trends, new developments and state and federalstatutes regulating human resources functions.
Ability to adapt tonew reports, functions and simplesoftware programs with assistance.
Understanding ofconfidentiality within the HR department.
Ability to workindependently and use judgment to resolveboth routine and non routine issues.
Union experience preferred, but not required.
Education, Experiences, Certificates/Licensesand/or Registrations:
BA/BS degree required
Eight (8)years experience in Human Resources management roles
Must maintain a valid driver's license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation
WorkEnvironment and Safety Equipment Required:
Whileperforming the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to sitfor long periods and stand to perform work. The associate is required to reach with hands and arms, smell, talk orhear. The associate must be able tolift, push, pull or move up to thirty (30) pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by thisjob include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjustfocus. The noise level in the workenvironment is usually moderate to noisy and the associate may be exposed toextreme weather. Reasonableaccommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to performthe essential functions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
