Lead UX Researcher and Designer for Automotive R&D Design Team in Long Beach, CA
Summary This team is responsible for creating user interfaces and apps for the next generation of vehicles as well as concepts for the future human machine interfaces on mobility platforms.
The candidate would join a team of UI Designers, Storytellers, and Programmers to lead UX Research and Design.
This team also works with engineers, researchers, and designers from other departments throughout the organization to support the development of our future product concepts.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a unique mix of experience in human centered design, human psychology, consumer electronics, mobile app or web development, a deep attention to detail, and a passion for simplifying user experiences.
Must Have Skillsets:
5-7 years as a UX researcher, user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar UX-related role Deep, proven, UX research and design experience in a team environment Fluency of best practices for information architecture, interaction design and user experience design Ability to mentor and teach team members of UX best practices Expert in wireframing tools (Sketch, Axure, Adobe XD, OmniGraffle) with at least three (3) years of experience creating prototypes or highly detailed wireframes for complex applications Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Hands on research experience working with competitive analysis of user models and interaction models to feed into wireframing activities Ability to create detailed Personas and User stories for feature sets Experience using user-centered design methods and usability testing Ability to create detailed User Interaction maps and diagrams Experience with Google Material Design principals and prior experience designing for applications (iOS, Android) Familiarity with user interface patterns for web/mobile/consumer electronics Experience working in a collaborative team and directly with developers for implementation of designs Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.
