The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the gathering of information required for various statistical reports required by either by the direction of Chief of HAS and the HAS leadership group. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare correspondence for administrative inquiries from the facility. Respond to time sensitive inquires and administrative problems brought to the Chief of HAS on behalf of other Health Group chiefs, VISN, VACO, federal agencies, state agencies, vendors, and contractors. Develop and manage perpetual inventory that tracks, monitors and adjusts supply reorder volumes based upon the usage rates. Analyze supply usage and independently resolves discrepancies or issues in HAS office supply management system. Track and manage work orders to ensure repairs are made within timeliness standards. Resolve discrepancies in work orders and coordinates with Engineering, EMS and vendors regarding work order status. Receive all correspondence for HAS leadership, timely routes correspondence to the appropriate point of contact/subject matter expert, addresses and replies to anything not requiring their attention, routes matters to the appropriate service within or outside of HAS, follows up to ensure the action have been completed and that time sensitive responses are submitted within standards. Screen all correspondence prepared for the Chief HAS's signature for clarity, completeness of reply, grammar, as well as procedural correctness. Maintain control sheet/spreadsheet for all HAS suspense's including Congressional, customer, facility, VISN and VACO issues, assignment, due dates and completion. Organize and maintain HAS leadership files and records, manuals, handbooks and other related materials in accordance with Record Control Schedule. Perform a full range of duties related to all aspects of time and attendance reporting for HAS, which affects employees. Assist and give guidance to employees regarding policies and regulations governing the time and leave system. Coordinate travel arrangements for the Chief HAS, and HAS leadership as directed, schedules, itineraries, appointments and reservations. Screen all calls and visitors to the Chief HAS office. Refers calls and visitors to HAS leadership to the appropriate point of contact, and forwards to the Chief only those calls or visitors requiring the Chiefs attention. Provide special reporting activities, special one-time reports to VALBHCS Senior Leadership, VISN, VACO etc. complies and analyzes data for recurring and non-recurring reports required by facility management, VISN management, VACO and outside agencies. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS -6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS -5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS -5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
utilize medical terminology, automation software (examples; medical software and Excel, spreadsheets and databases); perform Timekeeping functions and provide receptionist/clerical support work. . You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
